JHS boys netters defeat Athens Academy

For the first time in many years — perhaps ever — the Jefferson High School boys’ tennis team defeated rival Athens Academy Tuesday afternoon.

The boys won 3-2 with the Number Two doubles clinching the winning match.

Also winning were Number One singles Zack Bost and Number Two singles Blair Buffington. [Full Story »]

The Madison County boys’ tennis team (5-1, 3-0) made quick work of Habersham Central Tuesday, winning four of five positions in straight sets in a 5-0 victory to remain unbeaten in subregion play.

The former Winder-Barrow High School and current University of Georgia tennis standout recently entered an adult tournament in Collins Hill and cruised to the championship only losing one set while winning three matches.
