Final race of season held at WB Speedway

The 2009 racing season came to an end this past weekend at Winder-Barrow Speedway.

Staff and officials at the track said they would like to thank all the drivers and fans for a great racing season.

Mark Chancey took his #20 racing machine to victory lane in the Street Class. Darrell Frady, Ronnie Poole and Jennifer Everett followed.

Frady takes win in Street Class division

Darrell Frady drove the #3 car to victory lane in the Street Class division last Saturday at Winder-Barrow Speedway.

Mark Chancey took second followed by Brian Worley.

After an action packed Hobby Class race, Joe Cash took the win followed by Johnny Hill and Jimmy Johnson.

Crowe competes at state level in Alabama

Winder-Barrow Speedway racer Perry Crowe, driver of the #9 Modified 4 Cylinder car, competed in the state championship race at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Ala. this past weekend.

There were more than 350 cars just attempting to make the race in the nine classes they ran.

Memorable night: Father, son both register victories

On Father’s Day weekend, P.J. Taylor and his son, Justin Taylor, both earned wins in their respective divisions this past Saturday night at Winder-Barrow Speedway.

Veteran driver P.J. Taylor got the checkered flag in the Advanced 4 Cylinder Class followed by Randy Peppers and Perry Crowe. First year driver Justin Taylor took his third win of the year in the Stock 4 B Class followed by Michael Bennett and Chris Griffeth. [Full Story »]
