Lady Eagles Goes 1-3 In Area Play Date At EJCHS

The East Jackson Lady Eagles’ volleyball season got under way on Saturday with an area play date Saturday. The team went 1-3, but according to coach Tim Thomas, the outcome could have been better.

The East Jackson Lady Eagles volleyball team continues to work towards its season opener.

According to coach Tim Thomas, cuts were made last week, and the team has been working since then to prepare for Saturday’s area play date at East Jackson.

The Lady Eagles will face Greene County at 9 a.m., Athens Academy at 11 a.m., Lakeview at 1 p.m. and Tallulah Falls at 4 p.m.

There’s really no other way to say it – 2007 was a tough year for the East Jackson Lady Eagles volleyball team.

After picking up a historic first victory against the Gainesville Red Elephants on August 23, the team struggled for the rest of its first season to find its footing.

But that was the past, and according to the Lady Eagles’ new coach, Tim Thomas, it has nothing to do with the approach that he and his team will take going into the 2008 season. [Full Story »]
