The Bethlehem Christian Academy baseball team dipped its toe into playoff waters for the first time last week and when all was said and done, the temperature was just right.

The Knights improved to 19-2 overall by sweeping visiting Randolph Southern 11-1 in five innings and 5-0. The wins put BCA in the state semifinals against defending champion Crisp Academy this Friday.

“We had the best week of practice we’ve had all year,” said Knights coach Nick Pou. “We came out and had great pitching and defense. Niko (Mailloux) and Jared (Martin) really delivered. We also did a good job with our situational hitting, which is something we stress. We put runs together a few at the time. When you do that, the run total adds up and you emerge with a win.” [Full Story »] 

It has been so far, so good for the Bethlehem Christian Academy baseball team.

In the first full season of varsity competition for the Knights, BCA has gone undefeated in region play and posted a 17-2 overall regular season record. The only losses came to teams in larger classifications in the GISA, one of them in extra innings.

The Bethlehem Christian Academy baseball team has already made history in its early existence.

Coach Nick Pou’s team defeated Thomas Jefferson 9-1 Tuesday on the road to win the Region 1-A title and earn a bye in the opening round of the GISA Class A state playoffs.

The Bethlehem Christian Academy baseball team took an important step toward its first region championship Tuesday with another dismantling of a 1-A foe.

The Knights needed just three innings to dispatch of visiting Westminster Christian 15-0. BCA (16-2 overall, 7-0 in Region 1-A) scored 13 runs in the first inning and is now in position to win region with a win next Tuesdady at Thomas Jefferson Academy.

Jared Martin earned the win Tuesday with four strikeouts in the shortened contest.

Matt Masters delivered a two-run homer in the bottom of the first for coach Nick Pou’s team as the onslaught began after Jordan Fountain had a one-out double. [Full Story »] 

With few region opponents providing much of a test for the Bethlehem Christian Academy baseball team, the Knights have stepped up in competition in recent outings and have continued to enjoy success.

BCA defeated visiting Loganville Christian, a Class AAA team, 4-2 Tuesday. Jared Martin went the distance and recorded 15 strikeouts while limiting the Lions to three hits.
The Knights scored one run in the bottom of the first on an RBI single which scored Jordan Fountain.

BCA added one more in the third on an RBI single by Matt Masters which scored Brandon Hightower. [Full Story »] 

The Bethlehem Christian Academy baseball team returned to the field Tuesday and continued to show why it is ranked No. 1 in Class A for the Georgia Independent Schools Association.

The Knights used a nine-run second inning to help dismantle visiting Nathanael Greene 13-0 in five innings. Despite the lopsided victory, BCA coach Nick Pou was not pleased with all aspects of his team’s effort. [Full Story »] 

The Bethlehem Christian Academy baseball team is now the No. 1 team in the Georgia Independent Schools Association Class A ranking.

The Knights, who entered this week at 8-1 overall and 4-0 in region play, are No. 1 followed by Westwood, Crisp Academy, Thomas Jefferson and David Emanuel. [Full Story »] 

It hasn’t taken the Bethlehem Christian Academy baseball team long to get noticed.

In their first full season of varsity competition, the Knights are making waves in the Georgia Independent Schools Association. Tuesday afternoon saw BCA (5-1 overall) defeat Piedmont Academy, a perennial GISA state playoff program, 5-4 at home.

The Knights jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the fourth inning and they held off a late rally attempt by the Cougars, who left the bases loaded in both the sixth and seventh innings. [Full Story »]
