Pittman resigns as Lady Panthers coach

After nine years and 110 victories, Jackson County girls head basketball coach Chad Pittman has decided it’s time to move away from the JCCHS basketball program.

Pittman resigned as coach the morning of February 22, but waited until this week’s basketball banquet to make the official announcement.

“I just feel like currently, with things going on with my family, it’s kind of a good time to make a change,” Pittman said. [Full Story »]

After making it two games into the post season, the Lady Panthers of Jackson County saw their season come to an end with a loss to Franklin County.

The Lady Panthers of Jackson County wrapped up regular season play this week and now begin to focus on region tournament play.

JCCHS will open up postseason play by hosting Mountain View today (Wednesday).

The Lady Panthers of Jackson County were finally able to end a four-game losing streak that plagued them last week by picking up a region win over Oconee County Friday.

The Lady Panthers now look to end their regular season on a high note, as they will travel to Franklin County Friday to face the Lady Lions. Jackson County fell in the last meeting of the two teams, 54-34, on Jan. 26

It was a hard week for the Lady Panthers of Jackson County, as they dropped two region contests to Franklin County and Stephens County last week.

The Lady Panthers are hoping to get back on track in the last four games of region play. On Friday, they will travel to Oconee County to face the Lady Warriors.

Jackson County defeats Mountain View

With the end of the regular season in sight, the Lady Panthers are looking for a strong finish to give them a good transition into the post-season.

Last week, Jackson County split games between Mountain View and Hart County, leaving them 4-4 in the region and 12-7 overall entering play this week.

The Lady Panthers will play host to Stephens County on Friday. The Lady Indians handed Jackson County their first region loss of the season back in December. [Full Story »]

It was an up and down week for Jackson County’s Lady Panthers, as they split region games with Archer and Oconee County.

Next up is a big region pairing for the Lady Panthers, as they will travel to Hartwell to face Hart County. The Lady Bulldogs enter the week 3-2 in the region and 8-7 overall. Hart County won the last two meetings of the two teams, back in February and January of 2009.

After a strong start to the new year with a victory over Habersham Central, the Jackson County Lady Panthers hit a bump in the regional road this past Friday by dropping a loss to Elbert County.

The Lady Panthers now look ahead to their next region pairing, as they’ll play host to Oconee County this Friday. The Lady Warriors enter play this week with a 9-4 overall record and 2-1 in the region.

The Jackson County Lady Panthers didn’t have the New Year’s break they had hoped for, as they fell to Sequoyah and Creekview in tournament play at Pickens County.

The Lady Panthers now get ready to return to region play with the heart of their region season ahead of them. Friday they will play host to the Lady Blue Devils of Elbert County, who enters the game 1-3 in region play.
