After a rough start to the DQ Classic tournament at Hart County that resulted in back-to-back losses, the Lady Eagles of East Jackson rebounded last Tuesday with a victory over Carver, Columbus to make them 4-7 overall.

Up next is a trip to Dawson County to face the Lady Tigers in region pairing on Friday. The two teams last met up in the first round of 8AA tournament play last season, where Dawson County won 51-44.

Following a 53-30 loss to North Hall at Phillips Arena last week, the East Jackson Lady Eagles hoped to rebound in the DQ Classic this week in Hart County.

Results of that tournament were unavailable at press time.

East Jackson will return to the court on Jan. 6 for a region match-up with Union County at home. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m. [ Full Story » ] 

The Lady Eagles of East Jackson are riding a wave of success into the Christmas break.

Their good fortune started with a victory last Wednesday against Commerce, then carried on to Friday night with a win over Washington-Wilkes.

The Lady Eagles get a chance to catch their breath now, as they will be out of action until Dec. 23, when they will travel to Philips Arena in Atlanta to face North Hall. [ Full Story » ] 

It was not the week the East Jackson Lady Eagles had hoped for, as they dropped a game to Stephens County last Tuesday, then lost to Oconee County on Friday.

Next up for the 1-4 Lady Eagles is a home stand against the Lady Tigers of Commerce tonight (Wednesday). Commerce enters the match-up 1-1 on the season, fresh off a victory over Tallulah Falls Friday night.

A few days after losing to Grayson to open the Talon Tip-Off Tournament at home, the East Jackson Lady Eagles picked up their first win of the season over Johnson on Nov. 25, then lost a close game to North Hall on Nov. 29.

Now the Lady Eagles turn their attention to regular season play, as they prepare to host Oconee County on Friday. The Lady Warriors enter the contest with a 1-1 record prior to action on Tuesday, having scored 74 points overall, but having allowed 96 points to be scored against them. In their last pairing, Oconee County came away with a 55-45 win last Dec. 27.

The Lady Eagles of East Jackson had a rough opening to their season Saturday night, as they faced the Lady Rams of Grayson in the opening round of play in the Talon Tip-Off tournament at East Jackson.
Grayson bested the Lady Eagles 74-49.

It was a spirited game against a very athletic Grayson team right from the start. The Lady Eagles found themselves down 26-9 at the end of the first quarter, and saw the deficit grow to 20 points as the Lady Rams led 47-27 going into the half. [ Full Story » ] 

At the end of last season, East Jackson Lady Eagles coach Amy Larimer said she saw a bright future for the girls’ basketball program.

When the Lady Eagles hit the court this weekend for the Talon Tip-Off Classic at East Jackson, it will be the first step into a new season, and a chance to write another chapter in the East Jackson history books.

In their first season, East Jackson went 9-17, dropping in the first round of region playoffs after a loss to Dawson County. [ Full Story » ] 

The Lady Eagles of East Jackson became back-to-back region champs Saturday as they beat Jefferson 3-0 in the championship game.

It was a tough region road for the Lady Eagles, who defeated Oglethorpe County 13-0 in their post season opener Tuesday, then moved on to beat Union County 3-1 later that evening. [ Full Story » ]
