Jefferson to host East Jackson in historic title game

No matter the outcome, Friday night will be a historic night for football in Jackson County.

EJCHS Prepares For Postseason

The East Jackson Lady Eagles hope to start their postseason on a high note.

The Lady Eagles face a play-in match next Tuesday as the fifth seed from their side of the area for a chance to get into the area tournament. They will face either Tallulah Falls or Rabun County, depending on the outcome of games this week.

Last week didn’t give the Lady Eagles the boost they needed. After playing well the previous week, including a win against Gainesville, they lost to Jefferson and Eastside last Tuesday. [Full Story »] 

Lady Eagles Host Banks Co. Thurs.

The weather has been the biggest foe to the Lady Eagles of East Jackson, as both games on last week’s schedule got rained out.

East Jackson was slated to host Walnut Grove last Tuesday, and travel to Rabun County last Thursday. There’s been no word yet on rescheduled dates for the games.

The Lady Eagles were scheduled to travel to Union County yesterday (Tuesday) to face the Lady Panthers. Results were unavailable at press time.

East Jackson will host Banks County on Thursday at 5:55 p.m.

Lady Eagles Defeat Gainesville

East Jackson’s Lady Eagles volleyball team ended last week on a high note, recording its fourth win of the season with a victory over Gainesville.

The Lady Eagles will host Rabun County at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The Lady Eagles started out last week by facing Madison County and Winder-Barrow on the road. Against Madison County, East Jackson was handed a 2-0 loss, with set scores of 25-18 and 25-19. [Full Story »] 

4-0 Eagles Face Riverside At Homecoming

The East Jackson Eagles continued their hot start to 2009, as they beat the Union County Panthers 56-27 Friday night on the road.

The Eagles are now 3-0 in the region and 4-0 overall. Only two other region teams, Jefferson and North Oconee, can boast such numbers at this point.

Up next is the Eagles’ homecoming game Friday night against Riverside Military Academy.

Eagles Go 3-0 With Win Over Patriots

The East Jackson Eagles wrote more school history Friday night, as the football program went 3-0 for the first time in history with a 28-14 victory over the Oglethorpe County Patriots.

The Eagles travel to Union County to face the Panthers, who are 1-1 on the season and are coming off a close 31-30 loss to North Oconee last Friday.

Kickoff is at 7:30.

Eagles Take 1st, 2nd Place At Athens Christian

The East Jackson Eagles started the cross country season at the Northeast Georgia Championships Saturday at Athens Christian with 1-2 finishes.

The Lady Eagles came away with the varsity championship, while the boys’ team captured the runner-up spot.
Next up for the Eagles is a trip to Gainesville for the War Eagle Classic on Sept. 8.

At Athens Christian Saturday, Sherri Blalock led the way for the girls with a second place-finish out of 108 runners. [Full Story »]

It was just the kind of night the East Jackson faithful were hoping for.

After the rains cleared out, the East Jackson Eagles took to a wet, muddy field to beat the West Jackson Spartans 55-26 in the opening games for both teams.

The Eagles will travel to Fannin County Friday to face the Rebels, who are coming off of a 24-18 victory over Gilmer County. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. [Full Story »]

It’s been a bumpy start for the East Jackson Lady Eagles volleyball team, as it enters the week with a 1-6 record.

The Lady Eagles will take to the court on Thursday at Clarke Central against the Gladiators and Salem, beginning at 5 p.m.

The Lady Eagles started off their season on Aug. 15 by hosting a play date for several area teams. [Full Story »]

The countdown is almost at zero for the Eagles of East Jackson Comprehensive High School, as they prepare for Friday’s football season opener.

Kickoff Friday night against the Spartans of West Hall High School is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Eagle Stadium.

Last week, the Eagles scrimmaged with Charles Drew High School in Riverdale, coming away with a 41-0 “victory.” [Full Story »]
