The Jefferson Middle School Dragons finished the 2009 season undefeated last Thursday night with a 28-14 triumph over Lumpkin County in the North Georgia Mountain Conference Championship.

Coach Chad Cheatham’s 9-0 Dragons lead the entire way before pulling away midway through the fourth quarter on a 60-yard run by Tristan Jackson.

The Dragons defense was lead by Austin Mixon who had one interception and a 50-yard fumble return. [Full Story »]

The Jefferson cross country girls team are headed to state competition this weekend after coming home with a fourth place finish at the 8-AA region meet at Riverside Military Academy last week.

The Lady Dragons finished behind Dawson County, East Jackson and North Oconee, and beat out Union County. [Full Story »]

The Jefferson Dragons cross country teams traveled this past Saturday to Riverside Military Academy in preparation of the regional championships.

Despite cold, windy weather, the Dragons saw many team members, both boys and girls, put up new personal records with their times.

The boys would go on to place fifth in the event, while the girls placed third. [Full Story »]

Despite cold, rainy weather, the Jefferson juggernaut rolled on Friday night, as the Dragons remained undefeated with a 36-6 victory over the Rabun County Wildcats.

The win means only Jefferson and county neighbor East Jackson remain undefeated in region 8-AA with two weeks left in the regular season.

Next the Dragons face what could be a hurdle, as they face the only other team that, prior to Friday night, was undefeated in the region, the Titans of North Oconee. [Full Story »]

The Jefferson Dragons cross country team posted strong times and placed well at last week’s MainStreet Meet, held at East Jackson Comprehensive High School.

The Jefferson boys finished fourth overall, with Trae Timmerman turning in a 12th place finish to lead the boys’ efforts with a time of 19:39. [Full Story »]

The Jefferson Dragons extended their undefeated record Friday night with a decisive win over the Banks County Leopards, 35-6.

Jefferson is now 6-0 in region 8-AA and 7-0 overall.

They’ll hit the road Friday night to travel north to Rabun County, where they’ll take on the Wildcats of Rabun County, who are looking to end a region drought. [Full Story »]

With just four weeks of regular season football left, the Jefferson Dragons appear to be in good shape for a post-season shot.

The Dragons are one of three teams in the region to go undefeated thus far in the season, with East Jackson and North Oconee being the other two.

The Jefferson Dragon cross country teams traveled to Alexander High School over the weekend to take part in the Asics Alexander Invitational.

The girls came away with a ninth place finish, while the boys placed 15th overall.

Cara Smith finished highest among the girls, placing 12th with a 21:20.

Jefferson shuts out Riverside Eagles 27-0

Despite it being their lowest scoring game of the year, the Jefferson Dragons continued their winning ways Friday night by defeating the Eagles of Riverside Military Academy 27-0.
That leaves the Dragons 5-0 in 8-AA, and 6-0 overall.

The Dragons have the week off this week before traveling to Homer to face the Leopards of Banks County, who are coming off of a loss to East Jackson Friday night.

Jefferson has won the last two meetings between the two teams. Last year, the Dragons won 34-22. [Full Story »]
