The Commerce High School Tigers are in the playoffs and still have a challenge before them.
Commerce secured a number three seed in the playoffs after a 22-12 victory over Prince Avenue last Friday.
The first hurdle in the playoffs for the Tigers is Wilkinson County, the number two seed in 7-A. Commerce will make the two-and-half-hour trek to Irwinton this Friday for the first-round game. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.

Tigers Get Third Straight Win Over Prince
“We played good enough to win,” said Tiger coach Steve Savage. “Sometimes good enough to win is good enough.”

Tigers Hope To Regroup At Lakeview Friday Night
After a 33-7 loss last Friday, Commerce only has three games left to secure a playoff spot.
This Friday, Commerce heads to Gainesville looking to pick up a second region win over the Lakeview Academy Lions. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. at Jock Hornor Field.
Lakeview is still in the infancy of its football program, 1-4 overall; 0-3 region. Stacked against a perennial powerhouse like Commerce, the numbers are in the Tigers’ favor. Commerce has amassed 122 points, averaging 17.4 per game, compared to Lakeview’s 58 points and 11.6 average. The Tigers have allowed 192 points in seven games while Lakeview has allowed 137 points in five games a 27.4-point average apiece.

Commerce Hosting Undefeated Wesleyan On Friday
The Commerce Tigers proved Friday night why many schools have a history of fearing them.

Lady Tigers Face Wesleyan Friday
The Commerce Lady Tigers softball team has worked hard all season to make it to Friday’s sectional game.
The Lady Tigers will face Wesleyan at 6 p.m. in the Class A North Sectional at Heritage Pointe, Dalton. If the ladies advance, they will face either Gordon Lee or Walker at 8 p.m.
Commerce is ranked in the top ten in Georgia for class A and finished the regular season at 10-12 overall.
While the ladies are preparing for Friday’s game, they are also congratulating two of their teammates. Brooklynn Stinchomb and CJ Wilkes were named to All-Region for 8-A. Honorable mentions went to Bekah Andrews and Brittney Beauchamp.
