Shane Davis directed the Apalachee High School program during the past 10 years, making the playoffs four times.
However, the program went 1-19 the last two seasons and that weighed heavily on Davis as he announced his resignation Monday morning.
“It’s time,” he said. “From our win-loss record the last two years, that, in itself, says it’s time to give someone else a chance.”
Davis did say that the decision to step down was his.
