Last week was a tough one for the Jackson County boys’ golf team, as they faced three losses in a row.
The week started with a trip to Pine Isle to face Buford. In the end, it was Buford coming away with a 179-204 victory. Ben Waldrip led the Panthers by shooting a 49. Russell Jenkins shot a 51, Jonathan Jackson shot a 52, Rodney Price shot a 52, Jared Scott shot a 58 and Alex Brandao shot a 62.
Next up was a pairing against Stephens County at The Pines that saw Stephens come away with a 178-205 victory.
Price led JCCHS by shooting a 46. Scott shot a 49, Justin Lenz shot a 53, Jenkins shot a 57, Waldrip shot a 57 and Jackson shot a 58.
The Panthers wrapped up their week by facing off against Apalachee. Apalachee came away with a 171-191 win.
Price led Jackson County by shooting a 40, the lowest score of the year for the team. Waldrip shot a 50, Scott shot a 50, Jenkins shot a 51, Jackson shot a 55 and Lenz shot a 57.
“The men still have a great attitude and are working hard,” said coach Warren Standridge. “We have got to find a way to be more consistent.”
Jackson County was slated to face East Hall at Chicopee Woods on Monday, and Winder at Traditions on Tuesday. Results were not available at press time.
Next up for the Panthers is a match against Hart County and East Jackson on Thursday. The match is slated to get underway at 4 p.m.
