The Winder-Barrow High School football team remained in playoff contention with a 37-35 Region 8-AAAAA homecoming victory against Cedar Shoals High School Friday night at W. Clair Harris Stadium.
The Bulldoggs will now have a huge game with Clarke Central High School next Friday in Athens. The winner, in all likelihood, will be the No. 4 seed from Region 8-AAAAA for the state playoffs.
Going into the game against Cedar Shoals, WBHS coach Heath Webb warned the Jaguars were a good football team despite their winless record.
The Bulldoggs led 36-21 at one point but had to hold on late for a two-point win. Jeremy Ramsey had a strong defensive night for WBHS while CeCe Green did his usual damage and his now over the 1,000-yard mark for the season. Noah Chapman connected with Brandon Hayes on a 90-yard scoring strike.
