The Winder-Barrow High School football team’s magic number is one.
Either one win by the Bulldoggs or one loss by Heritage will put WBHS into the postseason for the first time since 2003. With last Friday’s win against Clarke Central, Winder-Barrow now holds the tiebreaker against the Gladiators. The best Clarke Central could do at this point is have the same region record as WBHS, but the Bulldoggs have the head-to-head tiebreaker.
The final spot comes down to the Bulldoggs and the Heritage Patriots. If WBHS were to lose its final two region games and Heritage wins both, then the Patriots would be in. Heritage plays at Clarke Central this Friday while WBHS is at Lanier. The Bulldoggs and Patriots will then meet Nov. 7 in the regular season finale at W. Clair Harris Stadium.
