The Jefferson High School Boys tennis team advanced Wednesday evening to the top 8 in Class AA play by rolling over Greater Atlanta Christian 3-0.

The boys will next host Westminster Tuesday, May 4, to see who will advance to the Final Four round.

Wednseday evening, singles players Zach Bost, Blair Buffington and Ben Daniel crushed GAC opponets, dropping only two games out of a combined total of 38 games in the three matches. The boys' second doubles team of Sky Porter and Aaron Martin were leading in their match when play was stopped following the singles route.

The Jefferson High School Boys Tennis team win the region 8AA championship Thursday afternoon by eaking out a 3-2 win over North Oconee High School. Zach Bost at number one singles and Blair Buffington at number two singles set the stage for the teams number two doubles as it fought a three-set marathon against NOHS. JHS players Trevor Castellaw and Aaron Martin scored the deciding points by winning the third set 7-5.

The JHS girls finished second in region 8AA, losing to NOHS in the finals.

Both teams now advance to state play next week, time and locations to be announced.
