Mat Panthers score win in Patriot Classic

“I think we really broke through a lot of boundaries this past weekend,” said coach Jason Powers. “Numerous wrestlers placed this weekend that have never placed before. Numerous wrestlers won their first high school tournament as well. I really look for each of these individuals to start to perform well as they have broken through some of their mental boundaries.”

Powers said each of these wrestlers have been capable of the performance they turned in at Oglethorpe County, but cited confidence as an issue.

That is, until Saturday.

“Hopefully they will show confidence in their abilities through the next couple of weeks,” Powers said. “This was a great late season tournament for us. Each individual on the team performed really well. I am really proud of their performance.”
