The Mat Panthers of Jackson County will be heading to Macon this weekend after earning a berth in the AAA State Duals Tournament.
Jackson County went 7-1 in the 8-AAA Area Duals over the weekend at Oconee County High School to finish second, sending the team to the state competition this Friday and Saturday at the Macon Centerplex.
“All year long I have been telling the team to keep their head up and keep working hard and it will pay off and it did in a big way this weekend,” said coach Jason Powers. “We had our two must win matches of the tournament on Friday night and we performed very well as a team.”
