Cook Holliday, the premier authority on high school track in the area, displays the medals he won while competing at the recent Georgia Games at Marietta High School.
Holliday won six gold medals for pole vault, high jump, triple jump, shot put, discus and javelin. Cook competed in the 70-74-year-old age division. Holliday is currently training for the national championships which will be June 4, 2017. Holliday is a long-time Winder-Barrow High School track and cross country coach who is regarded as the best pole vault mentor in the state.
Last spring, Holliday coached the lone Barrow County male athlete to the Georgia High School Association state track meet in Jefferson for the pole vault competition.
