Freeman, Phillips named MCHS Athletes of the Week
Madison County High School girls’ basketball player Courtney Freeman and wrestler Cody Phillips have been named Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of Dec. 8-13.
Freeman was selected for scoring 34 points in just three quarters of play in Madison County’s 71-45 win over Rockdale County Dec. 12.
Phillips, who wrestles in the 112-lb. division, went 4-1 in his matches at the Rumble in the Jungle tournament at Wheeler High as the Raiders went 3-2 in dual team competition and finished sixth out of 12 teams.
