USATF Georgia Junior Olympics championships begin June 12

The USA Track and Field Georgia Junior Olympic Championship will be held this week at Mill Creek High School in Hoschton.

Area preliminary qualifying meets began earlier this week at Emory University and Marietta 6 Grade Academy. The top eight athletes in each preliminary competition will qualify for the championships scheduled for June 12 through June 15 at Mill Creek Community Stadium.

Hundreds of Georgia’s top junior athletes are expected to compete in the event.

The top five competitors in the championship will advance to the Region III Junior Olympics Track and Field Championships to be held July 10 through July 13 at South Pointe High School in Rock Hill, SC.
