Friday-Saturday, Sept. 19-20
•JHS VOLLEYBALL TEAM GOES 3-3 AT CONYERS: The Jefferson volleyball team (21-13) went 3-3 in the Friday-Saturday Conyers Classic, beating Woodland, Veterans and Jonesboro and losing to Grovetown, Lee County and Lakeside.
Abby Wood totaled 50 kills and 50 digs in the six matches, while Grace Williamson finished with 49 kills and 23 aces.
Paige Watson led the Dragons in assists with 89, followed by Madison Corbett who finished with 82. Olivia Przybysz recorded 47 digs.
Other statistical leaders included Lindsey Nilsen and Bre Arbanas, who finished with 30 kills each, and Daniela Franco, who had 28 kills. Arbanas also recorded 14 aces.
Thursday, Sept. 18
•MORGAN CO. 2, JEFFERSON 0 (25-13, 25-20); JEFFERSON 2, LOGANVILLE 0 (25-12, 25-14): Jefferson split a pair of Thursday contests on the road, losing in two sets against Morgan County in a match for second place in Area 8-AAA. The Dragons rebounded with a two-set win over non-area opponent Loganville. Abby Wood led Jefferson with a combined nine kills, six aces and five digs in the two matches. Daniela Franco and Lindsey Nilsen each added six kills. Grace Williamson totaled five kills and seven digs. Madison Corbett finished with 18 assists and eight digs. Paige Watson recorded 13 assists and four digs. Olivia Przybysz finished with eight digs.
SOFTBALL
Tuesday, Sept. 23
•MORGAN CO. 6, JEFFERSON 4: Caroline Mitchell went 2-for-3 with an RBI Tuesday in the Dragons' home loss to region-leading Morgan County. Jefferson also got RBIs from C.C. Cox (1-for-4), Olivia Husted (1-for-3) and Emily Holman (1-for-3). Arynn Baker had a 2-for-3 night at the plate. With the game tied at two, Morgan County struck for three runs in the top of the second inning.
Monday, Sept. 22
•SOCIAL CIRCLE 5, JEFFERSON 4 (8 INN): Erin Jackson went 2-for-3 with a run scored and Olivia Husted was 1-for-3 with two RBIs in a non-region loss Monday on the road. Jefferson finished with eight hits in the loss. The Dragons trailed 3-0 before striking for four runs in the top of the fourth. Social Circle, however, retook the lead with a run in the fourth and won the game with a run in the bottom of the eighth.
Thursday, Sept. 18
•HART CO. 4, JEFFERSON 0: Emily Dufty went 2-for-4 to lead the Dragons offensively in a Thursday loss on the road. Erin Jackson and Caroline Mitchell supplied Jefferson’s only other hits. Hart County scored three times in the third and added a run in the fourth.
Tuesday, Sept. 16
•ELBERT CO. 7, JEFFERSON 6: Caitlin Cantrell went 1-for-4 with two RBIs, Olivia Husted went 1-for-2 with an RBI and Arynn Baker was 1-for-4 with an RBI in the Dragons’ home region loss to the Blue Devils.
