Lady Dragons hit court in Tourney Saturday

Coach Jason Gibson said newcomer Stephanie Fincher, a transfer student from Mill Creek High School, along with senior Emily Jacobs will provide some inside and outside scoring. Returning guards Callie Holloway, Marcayla Hester and Erin Knight will be counted on by the team for ball handling and perimeter scoring.

Freshmen Rachel Goza and Skylar Evanson will add some much needed depth to the perimeter as well, Gibson said.

“This years’ Lady Dragons will rely on quickness and defense to get them to the top of a very competitive region 8-AA,” Gibson said. “We have a brutal non-region schedule that will test the Lady Dragons right out of the gate.”

That schedule begins this weekend with the Tabo’s Tip-Off Tournament to be held at Jefferson starting Saturday. From there, the Lady Dragons will play host to Hart County on Dec. 6 before traveling to East Hall for their first solo game of the year on Dec. 9.

On Dec. 12, it will be the latest installment of the Dragon-Tiger rivalry, as Commerce travels to Jefferson.
