The Banks County High School softball team opened its regular season last weekend at the Lanier Point Tournament in Gainesville.
The Lady Leopards went 1-2 in the tournament, earning a win over Commerce and falling to Habersham Central and Union County.
On Sauturday, Banks County closed tournament play with a 6-4 win over Commerce.
Mallory Parson pitched six innings and fanned 10 batters. Kaitlyn Stewart led the Leopards at the plate, going three-for-three at bat with two RBIs. Breanna Parson was two-for-three at the plate with two RBIs.
On Saturday, the Leopards fell to Habersham Central 10-5.
The Raiders jumped out to a 10-0 lead, scoring runs in the first and third innings. Banks County battled back in the top of the fourth and fifth, but ultimately fell short as the game was called.
Shelby Parson led the Leopards at the plate, going two-for-two at bat.
On Friday, the Leopards dropped their opening game of the tournament in a 4-0 loss to Union County.
Banks County fell to Lumpkin County 4-3 on Tuesday in its home opener.
The Leopards will travel to Franklin County on Thursday for a Region 7-AAA matchup at 5:55 p.m.
