JACKSON County golfer York Delloyd was named to the Class AAA all-state golf team last week along with nine other players.
The senior played in the Panthers’ no. 1 slot the entire year and finished 11th individually in Class AAA with a round of 76 in the May 19 state tournament.
The accolade closes a stellar career for Delloyd, who started for four years at Jackson County and even practiced with the varsity as an eighth grader.
Delloyd played in three state tournaments — once as an individual and twice when Jackson County qualified as a team. He was also a three-time county champion and his career nine-hole round of 35 is one stroke off the school record.
Delloyd finished third in Region 8-AA individually in 2012.
Delloyd was one of four players from Region 8-AAA to earn all-state honors. The others were Davis Verner (North Oconee), Ben Huckaby (Oconee County) and David Mackey (North Oconee). Mackey was named Class AAA player of the year.
