Spring practice is in the history book for the Winder-Barrow High School football team, but players and coaches are about to be full steam ahead in preparation for the 2014 season, now approximately three months away.
WBHS played its spring game May 9 and despite rain which moved in just as the scrimmage was starting, new coach Heath Webb said he was pleased by what the team accomplished.
‘I was proud of the kids,” the coach said. “I thought we executed pretty well at times. especially since we have a new offense and defense. Football is football, but when you are doing so many new things you worry if the kids can grasp it and execute it. With only nine days of practice they did well. The effort and enthusiasm were great and outstanding.”
