After seven events scored on Thursday, the Jefferson girls are tied for ninth in Class AA at the state track meet in Albany with 10 points. Lovett leads Class AA with 42 points.
Here are how the Lady Dragons fared in each event:
•Maggie Newman finished third in the discus with a throw of 102-11.
•Abby Carson took fifth in the pole vault with a vault of nine feet.
•Reese Bowles ran a 12:36.79 in the 3,200 meters to finish ninth.
•Camille Porter ran a 2:29.18 in the 800 meter preliminaries to qualify for the finals Saturday.
•The Jefferson girls' 4x400 'A' team of Jaclyn Coleman, Savannah Dale, Porter and Madison Dills ran a 4:10.96 in the preliminaries to qualify for the finals Saturday. It was the second-fastest preliminary time.
•Competing but not qualifying during preliminaries were Chandler Bragg (800 meters, fifth in heat, 2:33.21), Taylor Love (300-meter hurdles, sixth in heat, 50.96 seconds), Jerilyn Williamson (300-meter hurdles, eighth in heat, 52.65 seconds), Carson (100-meter hurdles, sixth in heat, 17.55 seconds) and the 4x400 ‘B’ team of Williamson, Bragg, Mackenzie Wells and Love (seventh in heat, 4:22.26).
