Three Madison County boys’ track team members have qualified for the upcoming state track meet May 8-10 in Jefferson.
Vince Hix, James Willis and Cameron Stevenson earned their ticket to the Class AAAA meet this past weekend in the sectionals meet in Carrollton.
“They all did a great job by placing within the top 8/16, which leads them on to compete in the state meet in there individual events,” said Raider head coach Jamie Sims. “They all have worked hard and hopefully will do well to represent our school & region in the state meet.”
Hix threw 134’ in the discus, taking fifth place overall and Willis set a new school record in the 400-meter run with a time of 50.0, taking sixth place. Stevenson took eighth place in the 300-meter hurdles.
