The Winder-Barrow High School baseball team has taken care of business in terms of region foes to this point in the 2014 season.
Monday’s 10-0 win in five innings against visiting Salem High School pushed the Bulldoggs to 4-0 in 8-AAAAA as they have outscored their region foes 65-2. The victory at Charles W. Maddox Complex earlier this week was the second win against Salem as WBHS defeated the Seminoles 14-1 Friday.
Cole Baggett pitched another strong outing Monday going all five innings with seven strikeouts. He allowed only two hits and needed 84 pitches to seal the region win.
“Cole has been very effective,” Bulldogg coach Brian Smith said after the game. “He has gotten better with his changeup this year. He didn’t have that last year and, as a result, it has made his fastball even more effective.”
