Performing on its home turf, the East Jackson boys’ track and field team took fourth out of 13 teams from the surrounding area at the fourth annual Eagle Invitational Saturday.
East Jackson finished with 52 points.
Austin Beauchamp led the Eagles by winning the discus with a throw of 139-11. The Eagles also got a second-place finish out of its 4 x 800 meter team of Quenton Rice, Noah Hulett, Ethridge Chaisson and Chase Kennedy (9:00.02). Tyree Rakestraw finished third in both the long jump (19-10.5) and triple jump (41-11).
Cedar Shoals won the boys’ competition with 139.5 points. Athens Christian (75 points) finished second and Oconee County was third (64 points).
On the girls’ side, East Jackson tied for ninth with 33 points, led by Robin Adair’s second-place finish in the high jump (4-10).
