•JEFFERSON (BOYS) 176, COMMERCE 201: Jefferson freshman Charlie Jarrett earned low medalist honors Tuesday in a match against Commerce, shooting a 42 to lead the Dragons to a 25-stroke win at Double Oaks.
Others scoring were senior Paul Dixon (43), junior Cooper Young (45) and junior Hunter Gaitlin (46).
•COMMERCE 96, JEFFERSON (GIRLS) 101: Sophomore Madison Cones led the Lady Dragons with a 48 in a five-stroke loss in Jefferson’s season-opener. Jill Pratt added a 53.
•JEFFERSON (BOYS) 5, WEST HALL 0: The Dragons claimed victories at all positions Monday in a non-region win over West Hall. Gage Thompson won at no.1 singles 6-0, 6-0; Jordan Tyler was victorious at no. 2 singles 6-2, 6-1; and Jackson Howard took his match at no. 3 singles 6-2, 6-3.
In doubles action, the Justin Harrison and Nathaniel Trawick won at no. 1 doubles 6-2, 6-1 and Tim Deremer and Caleb Tyler won at no. 2 doubles 6-3, 6-3.
•JEFFERSON (GIRLS) 5, WEST HALL 0: The Jefferson girls swept West Hall Monday to earn a non-region victory. Winning in singles action were Cailyn Dijanni (no. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-2), Abi Muesse (no. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-3) and Chiara Pate (no. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-2).
Doubles winners were Charlie Bently and Olivia Yates (no. 1 doubles, 6-0, 6-1) and Zheagan Wessels and Kadi Perry (no. 2, 6-0, 6-0).
Both the Jefferson boys and girls’ tennis teams return to action against Banks County Thursday (4:15 p.m.) at home.
