Following a week of snow delays, the Banks County High School girls entered the Region 7-AAA tournament at North Hall High School and were knocked off by East Hall, 62-56.
Banks County finished the year at 18-8.
The Lady Leopards had beaten the Lady Vikings (13-13) the previous week with a last-second basket from Savannah Blalock, but this time round the Lady Vikings got the upper hand.
The Lady Leopards took a commanding lead with Casey Turner scoring eight points in the first quarter. Kaitlyn Duncan then stepped up, scoring nine points in the second quarter to extend the Lady Leopards’ lead to 34-24 at the half.
East Hall mounted a comeback in the third quarter and hit 11 free throws down the stretch to secure the win.
Duncan lead Banks County with 29 points, while Turner added 13 points. Others scoring were Taylor Kennedy (seven points), Savannah Blalock (six points), Abby Parks (six points) and Shelby Parson (two points).
