Matt Moore’s quest for another state wrestling title was delayed not by an opponent but by the weather last week.
Old Man Winter put a freeze on the state wrestling tournament causing Moore and his Apalachee High School teams to have to wait another week before finishing their quest for championships. The state wrestling tournaments will now be held at individual venues with Class AAAAA being hosted by Loganville High School Friday and Saturday.
“It was disappointing,” Moore told the Journal Sunday afternoon. “I was excited about wrestling in the Gwinnett Arena to finish my high school career. However, not being able to was out of my control.”
With school closed most of last week, Moore had to work out on his own. He also attended some wrestling practices for his club team.
