JEFFERSON (15-7) notched two more region wins last week to remain undefeated in 8-AA play.
On Friday, the Dragons dismantled Social Circle 71-27. It was almost instantly a no-contest as the Dragons jumped out to a 16-1 lead in the first period and never looked back.
Roc Young led the Dragon scoring effort with 18 points, while Tay Taylor contributed 13.
On Tuesday, Jan. 21, Jefferson won an overtime thriller at Riverside Military Academy, 71-61.
The Dragons held a comfortable 30-20 lead at halftime, but a 20-point fourth quarter surge allowed Riverside to get back in the game and tie it at the buzzer.
The Dragon defense stepped up in the overtime period, holding the Eagles to only one field goal while the Jefferson offense posted 12 points.
Taylor posted a monster offensive game with 34 points. Satchel Turpin added 14 points, while Connor McCullogh contributed 13.
Jefferson was scheduled to play at Union County on Tuesday night, but the game was rescheduled to Thursday due to inclement weather.
Following Thursday’s contest, the Dragons have four more games – three of which are region tilts – before heading into the Region 8-AA tournament on Feb. 11.
Jefferson will host Riverside Military Academy on Saturday before finishing its regular season with three straight home games against North Hall, Rabun County and Union County.
