The Winder-Barrow High School football team will seek its first region win this week, but as has been the case all season, the opponent will not make it an easy undertaking.
The Bulldoggs, who fell on the road to Cedar Shoals last week 27-6, will host Clarke Central Friday in the home finale for 2013. The Gladiators are already one of the four teams from 8-AAAAA which will move on to state, but Clarke Central is hoping to continue to shore up its footing in the region standings.
Cedar Shoals, who has now won two games in a row, took a 13-0 first quarter lead against the Bulldoggs last week and outscored WBHS 14-6 in the first half. Joey Junius finished with 65 yards Friday and the team’s lone touchdown on only five rushes.
