2008 high school baseball wrap up: Dragons made playoffs, tied record

From that point on, the Dragons had their eyes set on the playoffs. Team after team, fell before the bats and pitching of the Jefferson lineups. The team won six games in under six innings.

Jake Fields tied the school record for home runs at 18; Fields also had 52 RBIs.

The Dragons continued their streak through the first round of the playoffs facing off against Trion.

In the second round of the playoffs the Dragons had a hiccup in the first game against Eagles Landing, but came back to win the next two games.
Jefferson’s run was ended in the quarterfinals against Pacelli. Pacelli is in the finals facing Landmark Christian for the championship.

Despite not going as far as the team would have like this year, coach Tommy Knight has said that he is proud of the team and has no complaints about the year.

Jefferson moves to Region 8-AA next year and according to the Georgia High School Association website will be facing Banks County, East Jackson and North Oconee to name a few.
