The Winder-Barrow High School football team has had a week to heal up and try to recover from a disappointing loss to Salem.
The Bulldoggs are back in action this week as they travel to Heritage High School in Conyers to continue the Region 8-AAAAA schedule.
“We had a good week during the bye,” WBHS coach David Wagner said. “We gave the players a couple of days off for academics and to get healthy. We had three good days of practice. I was happy with what we were able to do. We’ve approached the bye week a little different each year depending on certain situations.”
The Patriots, led by former Jackson High School coach Mike Parris, have moved from the Wing-T to the spread look.
“It’s similar to what a lot of people have gone to,” Wagner said. “They run the zone and zone reads. They look to throw it after they have loosened you up.”
