The Banks County High School Leopards cross county boys and girls teams took first place over Stephens, Union, and Franklin counties in recent action.
"We have had a two week break and it paid off,” said head coach Kelly McDuffie. “We really worked the runners hard. They all did a great job this week. The Leopards will run the Mountain Invitational Thursday at Unicoi State Park. We will see many teams in our region so this will be a great race for us."
The top 10 boys race results were as follows: Jose Diaz 18:20 finishing first overall with a season best time, Andrew Elliott 19:27 finishing third overall , Beau Rush 20:00 finishing fourth overall with a season and personal best, Avery Rylee 21:00 finishing ninth with a season and personal best, Thomas Entrekin 21:55 at 14th , Harris Day 22:39 at 19th , Davis Day 22:48 at 20th, Saul Olandez 23:07 at 21st , Chris Guthrie 23:49 at 23rd and Adam Dodd 24:13 at 25th overall.
The following Leopard runners posted a season best: Arvin Ajami 24:26, Tristin Dodd 28:53, Luke Schaeffer 25:48, Angel Serrano 25:15 and Dustin Trotter 25:15.
The Top 10 girls race results were as follows: Makayla Hewell 21:20 finishing second , Maddie Knowles 25:10 finishing fourth, Mckenzie Simpson 25:36 finishing sixth, Carli Broome 25:58 finishing seventh, Hannah Brown 26:20 finishing eighth with a season best time, Leia Rylee 28:50 at 12th, Cheyenne Campbell 29:39 at 16th, Hannah Baker 29:55 at 17th, Kaylee Whitfield 30:03 at 18th and Kelsie Boyd 30:08 at 19th.
The following Leopard runners posted a season best: Sarah Bray 37:22, Savannah Crowe 30:11, Makayla Nolan 31:47, Erin Ryder 37:19, Hollie Wagoner 31:38 and Alyssa Watson 36:42.
