The Apalachee High School football team will be tested in several ways this Friday.
First, the Wildcats travel to Elbert County High School for a preseason scrimmage at 7:30 p.m. The contest will give many younger players for AHS a chance to compete at the varsity level for the first time. In addition, it will give the team a chance to go on the road and try to excel.
“I like playing at home, but we need to go on the road,” Wildcat head coach Shane Davis said. “Many of our players have not been in a situation of competing in a road game where they are going to play quality minutes. When we get to Elbert County, they know they are going to have to play in a varsity football game. That gives them a different mindset when we are making the trip.”
