The Jefferson Lady Dragons softball season came to a close in Dalton this weekend, after losing to Lovett 2-1 on Saturday in AA Sectional tournament play at Heritage Point Park.
Jefferson started out with a come from behind victory over Adairsville late Friday afternoon, winning 3-2 in eight innings.
Kara Perry recorded the win, striking out 11 and giving up five hits in eight innings pitched.

Lady Dragons end season at Sectionals
Callie Holloway went 3-4 against the Lady Tigers, with two hits, a double and three RBIs. Brittney Smith and Devin Stanley also had one hit each.
Next up was Buford on Friday night, who came away with a 4-0 win. Perry recorded the loss, striking out five but giving up 10 hits in seven innings.
Holloway and Summer Bartek each had a hit, while Jennifer Brueshaber had a double in the game.
The Lady Dragons started out their Saturday with a match-up against Coosa County, coming away with a 2-1 victory.
Perry was the winning pitcher, striking out six and giving up just three hits in seven innings.
Brianna Caudell went 2-3 with a pair of singles, while Stanley had a single.
Jefferson then moved on to play Lovett Saturday afternoon, seeing their season come to a close with a 2-1 loss to the Lady Lions.

The Lady Dragons season ended with a 6-4 region record, and 18-17 overall.
