This year’s NBA free agency has been filled with tons of big moves. Quite possibly, none bigger than All-Star center Dwight Howard agreeing to a deal with the Houston Rockets. But I would like to point out a move that is a little more surprising, that would be the 4-year/$56 million deal that the Detroit Pistons and former Atlanta Hawk Josh Smith agreed to.
J-Smoove has had his fair share of ups and downs throughout his first nine years of his career in Atlanta. Although often criticized, Smith has shown improvement over the years and is actually viewed as a nice asset for an NBA team.
But this deal comes as a surprise not just because of Smith’s production throughout his career thus far, but also because it doesn’t seem to make sense for the Pistons.
