Two members of the CHS girls’ golf team earned top-10 individual finishes at the Class A public state tournament at Highland Walk Golf Course on Monday.
Hannah McRee shot a 103, the fifth-lowest individual score in the tournament. Emmie Burley carded the eighth best score at state with a 106. Akyn Trudnak rounded out the Tigers’ score with a 121.
“I am very proud of our girls,” said Tiger coach Josh Shoemaker.
“This was a tough golf course and they played well. It was a big accomplishment for them to qualify and I am very proud of them for the amount of practice and work that they put in. All three girls have improved so much and when you look at the team scores we are right there with the best teams in the state.”
Schley County earned the Class A public girls’ state championship with an overall score of 201. Trion finished second with a 203 and Towns County posted a 204, tying for third with Gordon Lee.
