The Madison County High School volleyball team was ousted from region tournament play last Thursday, losing 25-21, 25-23 to Clarke Central in the opening round.
But Kollette Clark said her team went out swinging.
“Our girls played their hearts out and left everything on that court,” said Clark, who wrapped up her second season with the volley Raiders.
Madison County won just three games in what was another tough season on the volleyball court. But the team’s vigor at region encouraged Clark.
“This season was tough, no doubt about it, but I am so proud of the way the girls ended our season last night,” Clark said. “They played as a team.”
As for next season, the team loses four seniors to graduation.
“Team expectations change from season to season based on the athletes, but one thing remains constant as my expectation as a coach,” Clark said. “That expectation is that our athletes control those things only within their control: their attitude, their hustle and their communication with the team.”
