The Mill Creek softball team will compete in the AAAAA state finals this weekend in Columbus.
The Lady Hawks were perfect at sectionals, giving up no runs in three games. Mill Creek’s Morgan Bullock threw 22 innings, allowing only four hits and striking out 22 batters.
Mill Creek posted its first win against Brookwood. Bullock threw a no-hitter and Amberlie Saxton homered in the 2-0 victory. Freshman Jenna Holland had two hits in the game.
The Lady Hawks’ next victory was a 1-0 win over Cherokee.
Holland delivered an RBI sac fly in the top of the 8th to score Hannah Graham. Devin Dossman doubled, and Bullock struck out nine.
Mill Creek sealed a trip to the finals with a 3-0 win over Parkview.
Alex Rogers was 1-for-3 with a run and stolen base. Lauren Stimis was 1-for-3 with an RBI and stolen base. Saxton homered and Bullock was 2-for-3 with a stolen base and run. Graham drove in a run with a squeeze bunt.
Bullock was the winning pitcher allowing only two hits.
