A driving figure in Jefferson youth sports and recreation for more than 30 years, Howard Pollock recently led the 2012 class inducted into the Jackson County Parks and Recreation Hall of Fame. The hall was established in 2006 to honor those who’ve made an impact in youth sports throughout the county.
Joining Pollock this year were Jay Latty and Larry Sorrow, both coaches and recreation advocates for the Jackson County department and in Nicholson.
Additionally, Bennett’s Athletic Wear was honored for its steadfast support as a vendor and the Wildcats soccer team coached by John Wells was inducted for its significant role in pioneering the growing sport in Jackson County.
For the complete story, see the Feb. 6 edition of the Jackson Herald.
