East Jackson’s basketball teams each dropped two games last week.
On Tuesday Jan. 29, the boys’ team fell to Hart County 80-55.
Nathan Crumley led the Eagle scoring effort with 16 points.
The girls’ team narrowly fell to the Bulldogs, 44-42. The Lady Eagles made a late fourth-quarter rally, but fell short as time expired. Kelsey Palette led scoring with 12 points.
Last Friday, the Eagles squared off against region opponent Oconee County on Senior Night.
The East Jackson boys’ team led by a slim margin heading into halftime, but was unable to hold on to the lead through the third and fourth quarters.
The Warriors squeezed out the win, defeating the Eagles 51-47.
Jarron Davis was the leading scorer with 18 points. Casey Reed added 14.
The Lady Eagles also fell to Oconee County, 48-33. Palette led scoring with 16 points.
The Eagles hosted Franklin County on Tuesday but details were unavailable at press time.
Friday, both Eagle teams will travel to Jackson County for a rematch with the county rival Panthers. The girls’ game starts at 7:00 p.m. The boys tip off at 8:30 p.m.
