Eagles Looking For Win At Rabun Co.

After a week off, the East Jackson Eagles are ready to return to the gridiron, looking for their second win of the year with a trip to Rabun County Friday night for a 7:30 kickoff.

The Eagles went into the bye week off of a 42-0 loss to the Banks County Leopards during homecoming on Oct. 3. With a 1-4 region record, they are tied for seventh place in the region with Dawson and Rabun Counties.

It’s that tie that could mean their second victory of the year, and their second region victory in the Eagles’ short history.
Rabun County is in the same boat as East Jackson, but on paper, the Eagles have a clear advantage.

While both teams have 1-5 overall records so far this year, the Eagles have scored a total of 91 points, averaging 15.2 per game. The Wildcats, on the other hand, have scored only 48 points in their first five games, an average of eight points per contest.

The numbers are a little closer when it comes to points allowed. Opponents have scored 182 points against Rabun County this year, an average of 30.3. Meanwhile, the Eagles have allowed 176 points to be scored against them, a 29.3 average.

Rabun County enters Friday night’s game coming off of a 34-0 loss to North Oconee on Oct. 3. Its only victory came against Dawson County on Sept. 26.
