The winning ways continue for the A Team Girls from Banks County Middle School. On December 10, the Lady Leopards put away a the good team of South Habersham Middle School 41-16. On Thursday, they turned up the heat on Kings Bridge Middle School and brought home a 49-5 victory. The Lady Leopards record this season now sits at 6-0.
"This game was closer than the final score showed,” head coach Steven Shedd said. “South Habersham had a very scrappy team that gave us fits in the first quarter. We finally seemed to settle down in our offense in the second quarter and were able to start shutting them down defensively. We were able to slowly pull away from them throughout the game. I was very pleased with the fact that our outside shots are beginning to go in on offense which enables us to balance out with our inside game."
Gabby Kennedy and Lauren Shedd led the Lady Leopards in scoring with 12 points each. Kennedy has been the leading scorer in almost every game this season. BCMS led at the end of the first quarter 8-6 and went on a spree in the second quarter scoring 18-1 over the Rebels.
