One meet into the new Winder-Barrow High School swim season goals have already been met.
The first meet saw four Swim Doggs qualify for state. Alex Hentenaar and Ian Hentenaar qualfied in the 500 freestyle, Quinn McDaniels set a state qualifying time in the 100 free and the 200 free relay along with — Ian Hentenaar, Ryan Hendrickson and Alex Hentenaar.
“We are looking for more state qualifying entries,” said coach Jennifer Blevins. “The goal is to get as many as we can and to have enough depth that we can have an entry in the state meet in every boys event. Of the 11 boys events, we already have three qualified and anticipate qualifying in the remaining eight events before we enter our winter break. With four meets left before that break, our goals are surely going to be reached.”
Ian Hentenaar will help lead the WBHS swim program this season.
