East Jackson Back-To-Back Region Softball Champs

The Lady Eagles of East Jackson became back-to-back region champs Saturday as they beat Jefferson 3-0 in the championship game.

It was a tough region road for the Lady Eagles, who defeated Oglethorpe County 13-0 in their post season opener Tuesday, then moved on to beat Union County 3-1 later that evening.

East Jackson then went on later in the week to defeat North Oconee 2-0, and faced off against Jefferson for the title Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Eagles will move on to sectional play later this week in Dalton.

It would be so nice if just once during the season, a sports reporter showed up to report one of our games. You only print the score and maybe mention a player or two. Too bad, the Lady Eagles have played some great ball games this season but the public would never know it from reading the local paper. Funny how we can read the play by play action of the football games but can't get the same for the girls, and they win!
