McDaniel wins contest on tiebreaker

Larry McDaniel of Winder was tied with three other contestants last week in the Barrow Journal football contest, but took the $50 prize after the tiebreaker.

McDaniel guessed 58 points would be scored in the Georgia Tech vs. Duke game and 66 points were totaled by the teams. Everett had 10 correct picks to edge out Susan White and Cory Landers.

Those with nine correct included Pam Yarbrough, Michael McDaniel, Tommy Thompson, Mark Staley, Sandra Ledbetter, Donald Redman, Michael Cameron, Lola M. Freeman, Eddie Wallace, Ken Moore, Charles Garrett, Robert Phillips, John Landers, Louise H. Etheridge, James Crawford, John Sheats, Luke Sheats, Tate Sheats and Deborah Prickett.

Those with eight correct included Rebecca D. Freeman, Brandon Shedd, Kimm Everett, Johnny Everett, Elaine Moore, Mike Murphy, Ruby Phillips, Holly Sheats, Gary Hoopaugh, Tiffany Cooper and Deborah Cooper.
