High school football coaches look for things to carry over into the offseason program to use as a jumping board into the next campaign.
For Apalachee High School coach Shane Davis, there is plenty of reason for optimism. The Wildcats won four of its final five region games and missed the postseason by one game after finishing fifth in Region 8-AAAAA.
“We played well late in the season,” Davis said. “I just wish we could have gotten another win early. It was a tough region, but you’ve got to be able to beat at least some of the teams who are at the top. We were competitive against some of them, but couldn’t get that win.”
