Phillips wins contest on tiebreaker

Robert Phillips of Winder won the Barrow Journal football contest for Oct. 31 edging one other contestant on the tiebreaker.

Phillips correctly picked 11 games as did Ray D. Fumea of Winder. Phillips guessed 33 points would be scored in the Apalachee vs. Heritage game edging Fumean who predicted 28.

Seven contestants correctly chose the winners in 10 games including Eddie Wallace, Mike Murphy, Martha Yarbrough, Nancy Aloia, John Sheats, Greg Prickett and Ken Moore.
Donald Landers Jr., John Landers, Cory Landers, Cecil Highfield, Ruby Phillips, Tim Husk, Rory Sheats, Holly Sheats, Tate Sheats, Reed Sheats, Caleb Prickett, Brandon Shedd and Michael McDaniel all had nine correct.

Those with eight correct included Tommy Thompson, Allyssa Landers, Donald Landers, Dwight Barnes, Sandra Ledbetter, James Crawford, Donald Redmon, Sue Sheats, Julia Duane, Luke Sheats, Ray Lee and Nathan Freeman.

See page 5B in the Nov. 7 edition for the new football contest. The winner earns a $50 prize.
